We left early one morning and drove to Florence, it is about 4 hours and lots of mountain passes and crazy Italian drivers!! But we made it there and found our hotel and checked in. We were in the city and in line at the Uffizi museum by 11:30! We had been there a year earlier and were not able to get in, the line was too long, the weather was too hot and we ran out of time. So, this year we were determined to win and we did! Here we are in line and it took about 1 1\2 hours for us to get in.
Vinny discovered the pigeons and started to feed them from the stroller. It was fun to watch him and it kept him entertained while we were waiting in line. I think it kept a lot of people entertained while we were waiting.
This is a view from the museum towards the square and the Duomo. The Uffizi Museum has many paintings from the Renaissance era and quite a few that are famous. Artists such as Raphael, Correggio, Botticelli, and many more!It was a great experience and worth the wait.
This picture is from the museum along the river, this is Ponte Vecchio and the most popular of all the bridges, it is a walking bridge and has a lot of expensive shops along it. You can pass over this to the Pitti Palace and the Boboli Gardens.
After we finished at the Museum we went to the Duomo.

The Duomo is an amazing place, the outside is all marble, in colors of white, green and pink. There are many details on the front and even more inside. You can climb up the cupola, I believe there are about 463 steps and again we rose to the challenge and took Baby Vinson up.
Hope you enjoy the pictures.
The last picture is of the inside of the dome.
It was a great day, we went back to the hotel after that and we went to dinner at Gigi's. Debbie, you would appreciate the name.. We had a good shower and a good sleep and the next time will be
Florence the second day!Stay tuned..
